Artist Bio
Artist Paul Murray, originally from Dublin, lives near Coolaney, Co Sligo, with his family and various dogs and cats. He attended NCAD and has been a community art teacher for many years.
Artist Statement
Wilderness is everywhere, all around; even in the most ordered spaces. It is within the natural world, always seeking to make its mark, refusing man’s effort to tame it, reminding us always of its power and persistence. It is both uncertain and necessary.
It draws me in, it is the space I prefer, the spirit I feel, the undertow.
The Dada books reflect my long-term interest in Dada, always challenging the artistic form, the inclusion of things which are not refined and contained, the recovery and re-imagining of objects from other space.
