We welcome all visitors interested in Irish culture, drama and literature, history and of course – poetry. We want to help our visitors to build enjoyable educational experiences and memories through meeting new people and sharing stories,


Our new opening hours are:

Yeats Exhibition: Tuesday to Saturday  11-3pm (Bookings only required for groups of six or more)

Hyde Bridge Gallery: Closed until August 19th

Penny Cafe: Wednesday to Saturday 11-4pm

Your safety is our priority and we will be practising social distancing for your protection.

Facemasks must be worn to visit the Yeats Exhibition and Hyde Bridge Gallery.

However, the 61st Yeats International Summer School will not take place as planned.

The Yeats Building, Hyde Bridge, F91 DVY4 is right in the heart of Sligo. It is on the banks of the beautiful Garavogue river and just around the corner from O’Connell Street, the main street in Sligo.

Getting to Sligo

You can take the train to Sligo direct from Dublin Connolly Street station. The journey takes three hours. Dublin is the only city offering a train service to Sligo. Sligo McDiarmada train station is very close to Sligo town and on foot, the Yeats Building is 15 minutes from the station. Visit Irish Rail for timetables and to book tickets.

Buses also travel between Dublin and other main cities. Travel time varies. The buses arrive at Sligo Bus Station, which is next door to the train station. Visit Bus Éireann for timetables and to book tickets.

Taxis are available from both the bus and train stations.

Parking is available close to the Building in a number of car parks
