Yeats International Summer School
The Yeats International Summer School is an annual nine day event, packed with world-class lectures, seminars, trips to the Lake Isle of Innisfree and Drumcliffe, poetry readings, live music and cultural events.
In 2019 we celebrated the 60th Yeats International Summer School, now the longest running academic summer school in the world.
Yeats Winter School
The Yeats Winter School is held at the Sligo Park Hotel, celebrating poetry, literature, landscape and all members of the Yeats family through the seasons.
Yeats Day Festival
Yeats Day celebrates the birthday of Ireland’s national poet, WB Yeats. It promotes culture, creativity and Sligo, Yeats’ spiritual home. Enjoy poetry, drama, talks and birthday cake!!
2019 saw worldwide readings of Yeats poetry in celebration of Yeats Day – sharing favourite poems, readings or quotes on social media using the hashtag #YeatsDayinSligo
Yeats Day runs in collaboration with the Lily Lolly Yeats Festival of Arts and Crafts.
The Yeats Society Poetry Circle
Meets every Wednesday, 10.30am to 12.30pm, from September through to May.
Gathered round the fire in the Yeats Building Sligo, we read our favourite poems, discuss our thoughts, and learn about poets from home and abroad.
The Poetry Circle is open to all and visitors are welcome.

Yeats Society Sligo also run events in tandem with nationwide festivals that take place in Ireland every year, including Poetry Day Ireland, Culture Night and Heritage week.
