In Memory of the late Seamus Heaney R.I.P.

‚ÄčIt was with great sense of loss and deep sadness that the president, council, staff and members of the Yeats Society learnt of the death of poet and nobel laureate, Seamus Heaney this morning. It was just a few short weeks ago that Seamus read from his work at the 2013 Yeats International Summer School. The Society always appreciated his friendship, generosity of spirit and dedication to the school over many decades. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife, Marie and his family. May he rest in peace!

54th Yeats International Summer School another great success!

We are proud to be able to look back on another successful Yeats International Summer School here in Sligo, Ireland. In its 54th year, the summer school welcomes visitors from Ireland, throughout Europe and as far afield as the US, Australia, South Korea and Japan.
